      Resources

      • Development Meets
      • A Development Meet is an opportunity for all swimmers  to compete for improvement points. The aim of a Development Meet is to reward swimmers who improve on their personal best rather than focusing attention on those swimmers who place in the top 10 of their event.

      • Event Policies
      • SwimmingSA has a number of policies, procedures and rules which relate to the fair and safe conduct of swimming competitions in South Australia. It is important all event participants have read the Event By-Laws before attending a competition.

      • Looking for competition info? Here’s how to stay up to date.
      • All competitions are listed on the SwimmingSA calendar - this is your best starting point.

For SwimmingSA-hosted events, you’ll find everything you need on the relevant event webpage, including downloadable documents and the latest updates to help you make the most of your experience, whether you're an athlete, coach, official or supporter.

For club or district hosted meets endorsed by SwimmingSA, these are also listed on the calendar, but we recommend checking directly with the host club - via their website or socials - for the most up-to-date event info.

Sometimes a competition might appear on the SwimmingSA website before it shows up in your Swim Central portal - if you can't see it, the meet organiser hasn't set it up yet. Hold tight! If you’re unsure where things are at, head to our Competitions Dashboard - you’ll find closing dates, results status, and other key updates all in one place.

      • Can I submit a late entry?
      • We strongly recommend getting your entries in early - closing dates are advertised well in advance on our website to give everyone a fair and equal chance to enter. Some meets fill up quickly due to competitor numbers or time constraints, and entries can close early at the discretion of the meet organiser. So if you’ve got your eye on a comp, don’t wait - get those entries in as soon as you can!

Late entries for SwimmingSA-hosted competitions are generally not accepted, but in special circumstances, they may be considered - this depends on available lane space and is entirely at our discretion. Fees apply.

For club and district competitions, please email the organiser directly using the contact details on the relative webpage or on Swim Central.

To enquire about a late entry for a SwimmingSA-hosted competition, email us.

      • Can I use a split or relay lead-off time to enter an event?
      • Yes - you can, as long as the time was recorded properly at an endorsed meet and has been verified in Swim Central.

If it’s in the system and officially recognised, it counts!

      • Where can I find my results?
      • You’ll find all your official results in your Swim Central profile.

      • When will my results be updated?
      • For SwimmingSA-hosted competitions, results are usually uploaded to Swim Central by the next business day after the conclusion.

For club and district competitions, it can take a little longer. That's because the meet organiser needs to submit the results to SwimmingSA for processing before they are verified in Swim Central. You can check the status of any results in the Competitions Dashboard.

      • What if I swim a faster time after I’ve already entered?
      • No worries - your fastest eligible time at the time entries close will be used for seeding, even if you swim a quicker time after you’ve submitted your entry. Just make sure the time is from an endorsed competition and is in Swim Central before entries close!
