Competing Outside of South Australia

Domestic Clearances

South Australian athletes wishing to nominate and compete at domestic meets interstate must request a clearance from SwimmingSA.

Interstate Clearances may only be requested for meets which have been approved by the relevant state swimming association such as interclub, regional and state-level meets.

Eligibility & Application: Athletes must be a current and financial member of a South Australian club and submit the clearance form to the SwimmingSA Events Team at least two weeks prior to the nominations closing date of the meet you intend on entering.

Approval will usually granted unless the applicants are members of clubs located within the area bounded by the pools at Gawler to the north, Strathalbyn to the east, and Reynella to the south and there is a State Championship scheduled in Adelaide on the same day.

All applications that do not meet the criteria will be rejected, however applicants will have the opprtunity to write to the Board for an exemption.

Clearance to compete at a Swimming Australia event

Clearances are not required to compete at a national level event such as the Australian Swimming Championships, Australian Age Championshipsm Australian Short Course Championships, and Grand Prix. For clarification, please contact the SwimmingSA Events Team.

International Clearances

All athletes wishing to compete internationally must meet the requirements of Swimming Australia's International Clearance policy.

All International Clearances are approved by Swimming Australia however must be authorised by SwimmingSA first.

Manual Entry Form

Manual Entry Forms may only be used for events that specify their use, or after consultation with the SwimmingSA Events Team. SwimmingSA will not accept Manual Entry Forms where Online Meet Entries is open unless otherwise specified.

Unallocated Lane Sales 

Unallocated lanes are available for purchase at SwimmingSA meets during both long course and short course seasons. Please note that lane sales are not available at championships.

The request form must be submitted at the Team Managers meeting of the event/session (1 hour prior to the commencement of the session). Forms are available on the day of competition during events which allow for unallocated lanes to be purchased.

The cost of purchasing an unallocated lane is $33.00.
