SA Flippers
Identified as a key priority for the future of our sport, the National Flippers program has been rejuvenated since its initial inception, however its core aim to discover and develop talent remains the same. The tailored program – delivered at state and national level – is designed to prepare and nurture selected athletes who are showing potential, with the hope they can successfully transition to the senior team and represent Australia at major international events within the next four years. The National Flippers Program is aligned nationally, while the State Flippers Squad is a steppingstone to the National Program.
SA Development Squad
Comprises athletes who have achieved a selection time at the benchmark meet. Athletes in this squad are targeting national categorisation within 6years.
SA Multi-ClassFlippers and Development Squad
Males and Females aged 13-19 who achieve the qualifying standard at the Australian Age or Open Multi-Class Championships
SA Open Water Flippers and Development Squad
Males and Females aged 13-19 who achieve the qualifying standard at the Australian Open or Age Open Water Championships

SwimmingSA reserves the right, at its absolute discretion, to alter the criteria and to consider the addition of athletes under special circumstances.
Note: Swimming Australia Categorised Athletes are ineligible for selection but may be invited to activities throughout the year.
