SwimmingSA Event By-Law 32 - National Qualifying Time Trial Procedure
The aim of this procedure is to allow swimmers a last chance to achieve National Qualifying times. Swimmers cannot seek a time trial for an event where they already hold a National Qualifying time.
(a) A Time Trial will only be conducted if there is not a SwimmingSA meet scheduled within two weekends of the closing date of the relevant National Championship
(b) Should a Time Trial become necessary as per EBL 36 (a), details of the entry process will be published by SwimmingSA
(c) If a Time Trial is conducted, a swimmer may only nominate if their time is within National Qualifying times by: 0.50 sec for 50 m 1.00 sec for 100 m 2.00 secs for 200 m 4.00 secs for 400 m or longer
The Officials Room will be located in the Event Administration Room, behind the Control Room. Briefings for all officials will be held 30 minutes prior to the start of each session in the Marshalling Room. Please ensure you arrive on time and are present for your designated briefing.
Each competing club is required to provide a portion of the total number of officials needed for the competition. This is calculated based on the number of athletes entered from that club, using the formula outlined in SwimmingSA’s Mandated Officials Policy.
SwimmingSA’s preference is for all officials to hold current accreditation. A fully accredited team on pool deck ensures fairness, accuracy, and consistency in officiating. However, we understand some clubs may need to nominate a mix of accredited and in-training officials. Individuals in training are welcome to nominate and will be allocated roles in line with their experience.
While nominations must be submitted individually, some clubs may coordinate internal rostering. If you are part of a club that manages its own roster, please ensure you still submit your individual nomination and liaise with your club’s nominated officials coordinator.
Officials will be rostered based on the needs of the competition.
Officials nominations for this competition are to be submitted via Swim Central. Club officiating allocations will be updated once race nominations have closed.
